Sweet CCV pop top van on CL! SOLD!!!

YOUTUBE VIDEOS AND BED SIZES ADDED!!

BED SIZES: rear lower bed is 66x36"
Upper child's bed (over front seats) is 23x54"
Upper adult bed is 78x52"

[youtube:utqgc5yq]

This is the newer configuration, which raised the bed about 10 inches, providing a huge storage space under the rear bed, but van currently only sits 4 up front with this set up. It also stores the bigger table. either configuration can go with the van, whichever buyer prefers.

This is a unique conversion built by me with the top done by Colorado Camper Van of Loveland, CO. The whole roof raises via electric motors on a wall mounted button or keyless remote which is included. This makes a queen bed and a small adult or child's bed up top, with another bed in the rear which will sleep one adult or two children. It has gray insulated canvas up top with 6 zip out clear plastic/screen windows. The rear one zips fully open including screen.

Van:
2002 E-350 (1 ton) chassis
5.4 triton engine
2WD
155,000 miles on chassis
4r100 (newer style) 4-speed auto transmission
approx 10k miles on Jasper remanufactured engine
SCT (5-Star) performance tune
Original engine failed at about 145k due to a faulty connecting rod bearing (a very rare failure,
these engines will usually run several hundred thousand miles without a problem) I bought the van at about 125K and researched it thoroughly before I bought it. It had been maintained by the local Ford dealership, all maintenance always kept up. I have no other explanation for the failure. The engine was still running. It never 'blew up' or anything, but a knock had started and I didn't trust it since I bought it to travel so I replaced the engine.
Engine replacement done by a local authorized Jasper facility
warranty and paperwork available
WARRANTY IS TRANSFERRABLE TO THE BUYER PER JASPER
Toyo Open Country tires, E rated, 1/2 life left at least (see pics)
4 wheel disc brakes, front pads and fluid recently done
All fluids changed regularly
Power driver's seat WITH lumbar
Armrests on all 4 chairs
OEM Ford seat belts in rear
Side windows pop out, all windows tinted
Tilt/Cruise/cold AC, PW, PDL
factory rear heat/air conditioning blows ccccoldddd.

Camper:
Colorado Camper Van electric pop top done about 1 year ago

Atwood EverestStar 16K BTU furnace
2 burner stove

7 gallon fresh water plumbed to sink
NO holding tanks, hose drain connection, but there is space for one underneath
Nook for porta potty
Large closet
Several large storage drawers
Large storage area under rear bed/dinette
LED lighting throughout
Pioneer CD/MP3/Aux/DVD/rear camera in dash
19" flat screen TV/DVD for rear passengers
**remotes for all electronics**
Tripp-Lite inverter for AC power while camped
**this will charge batteries when plugged in, provide AC power when not, and manitain batteries with a 3 stage charger**
2 large deep cycle batteries run the inverter, charge off alternator
AC power plug or alternator while running
GE refrigerator (4cf, **large for a small RV)
GE microwave (runs off inverter, generator, or AC power)
Propane quick connect underneath van for portable propane tank
Over cab storage shelf
Lots of storage for bedding or flat items on bed with top lowered
AC plugs throughout
passenger swivel seat
Fully insulated floor with rigid foam and plywood flooring under laminate flooring
New carpet everywhere else
Walls and windows insulated with reflectix (bubble foil) insulation
Fantastic Vent fan in roof w/ thermostat and rain sensor
Yakima roof tracks ready for a Yakima (or similar) roof rack
Full length detatchable awning (stores on upper bed when not in use)
Door talon for rear side door (just ask)
Large table with cupholders and removable pedestal
Lots of added LED lighting, cup holders and charger plugs throughout van

This is a self contained camper perfect for touring or camping. Much easier to get around than a motorhome or truck/trailer, parks in a standard parking space. I built it for our family of 4. We have camped and traveled happily for weeks at a time in this van. It is approx. 8.5 ft high with the roof air, top down, and probably about 12 ft with it raised.

You can literally drive up to a site and be resting in comfort in about 3 minutes.

It gets about 15 MPG on the highway and 12-13 in town.

It is a joy to drive all day at 70+ MPH but fuel efficiency foes down 1/2 MPG if you drive it over 75.

I can go through most drive-thrus with this van! If you've driven an RV you know this can be a great convenience!

The refrigerator will run overnight on the inverter alone so you can dry camp, but in warmer weather you will need to plug in or run the van the next day to charge the batteries back up.
With a small portable generator you can stay indefinitely without plugging in.

I am selling my van only because I have another project. I have built it mostly myself so the purchase comes with lifetime tech support (within reason). In other words, I can tell you where the fuse is for this or that or what's behind this or that panel without you having to search or pay someone. It is pretty simple though. I have one easily accessible fuse panel inside the back door and one under the sink.

I have all paperwork on all appliances, both original keys with fobs, owners manual, engine warranty info, remote controls and manuals for electronics, etc.

It is a very complete van and will be missed, but I had a blast making it how it is, and I will probably do it again.

Pics of anything you would like to see in particular are available.

The good: If you've looked at many vans, especially of this age, you will find this one is as clean as a pin inside and underneath. I would give the interior and chassis an 8 of 10 and I am a 'car guy'. Absolutely NO rust. Southern owned and meticulously maintained vehicle. First owner was in Winston Salem NC and I bought it from them. No rain gutter rust, no muffler rust. Nothing. It has NO smoke or pet odors, stains, etc. It has no rips or tears in the interior anywhere and not a stain on any seat.

The bad. You might like to invest in a paint job for the exterior eventually. It has several small dents, dings and scratches from regular use as a camper and traveling vehicle. It has no sun fading or bad clear coat spots, just obvious stuff from use and being a dark colored vehicle, so it shows every flaw. I would give the paint a 5 of 10, but it still photographs well. If I kept it I wouldn't do anything but use it. I am probably more picky than most on the condition of it, but I realize someone might be traveling a long way to get it, so I'm trying to be thorough and honest about condition.

I don't need help selling.

I live near an airport.

I will deliver or assist in pick up or whatever, negotiable delivery fee around my work schedule. I love to travel.

Thanks

Good ad, great deal! You are not going to be owning that van much longer.

I have the 95 SMB I bought a few months ago, but it's pretty small for us. Still weighing my options.

You should lead with a picture of the top up.
You should have a picture of the top up.
You should list it somewhere besides craigslist.

Re: Sweet CCV pop top van on CL!

I'd suggest adding a keyword list at the very bottom to get better hits on people's searches. I usually do something like "keywords: ..."

Add other similar vans people might search for, as well as alternate spellings (misspellings) that people might do.

Keywords: sportsmobile, GTRV, pleasure way traverse, Westfalia, westy, class b, e250, pop up, pop-up, pop-top, pop top [ etc ]

Finally, as Jage said, definitely lead with a pic of the van with the top up. That's your "unique selling point" for the van.

Re: Sweet CCV pop top van on CL!

Thanks guys, I will fix both of those problems today. I put it together at work last night and realized I didn't even have any decent pics of the van with the top up. I will fix, thanks.

Keywords, oops. Yet another issue caused while trying to do this at work with other stuff going on.

gracias

Re: Sweet CCV pop top van on CL!

I would also post in the "Cars for sale" section, not just RV's for sale.

I got blurry screen when I saw this Thought you had a really great "complete thought" there.
I think you are low on price for all that you have assembled.

Members, I have seen this build, and it is an exceptional buy at his price
